Teddy Sumner, grandson of company founder, Frank Michaelian, is both owner and principal designer at Michaelian & Kohlberg. A trained and highly skilled fine artist, Sumner is continually inspired by his extensive world travels and his profound love of nature. Considered a master colorist, Sumner has made the Michaelian & Kohlberg name synonymous with carpets that combine innovative textures and weaves with sophisticated, design-forward palettes.

As his American Primitive, Out of India, and Road to Langtang Collections attest, Sumner's design work embodies an aesthetic sophistication rarely seen in today's contemporary decorative rugs.
